Natural Built Home was founded in 2005 as a one-stop shop for the safest and most sustainable building and finishing materials. Our mission is make sustainability accessible to everyone: homeowners, contractors, architects, and designers. We started out providing products through our website, and opened our first brick and mortar showroom in Minneapolis on Earth Day in 2006.
We continue to research and seek out the best environmentally-friendly building products, focusing on factors of sustainability, recycled content, low to no toxicity and V.O.C.'s, and locally or USA made. We value quality, durability, and affordability.
Every year we bring our green building message to the masses by coordinating the interior finishes of the Eco-Experience at the Minnesota State Fair. We also participate in the Living Green Expo and speak about green building and eco-friendly products to community organizations and businesses. We will continue to educate and encourage the use of products that are sustainable for our planet and safe for our health. Thank you to all of our dedicated customers for your continued support! Along with our great products, we also provide services:
- Cabinetry installation
- Countertop installation

- Flooring installation
- Design assistance
- Information classes
Natural Built Home is proud to be a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Keeping the Business Beat by Erica Marston
Natural
Built Home (4020 Minnehaha Ave.), the one-stop shop for
eco-friendly building supplies, recently opened in Longfellow
where it has already enjoyed a very favorable response from the
neighborhood. Owner Rachel Maloney is committed to specializing in
green products and building supplies that are safe for us and
sustainable for the environment, including countertops, sinks,
lighting, carpet, recycled glass tiles, low VOC paint products, and
bamboo, cork, and linoleum flooring. I was also pleased to find a
nice selection of household cleaning and outdoor products.
The
new showroom on Minnehaha is cool, spacious, and inviting, and I
found the staff to be friendly, professional, and extremely
knowledgeablea combination that prompted me to grab several extra
brochures and business cards to share with my neighbors.

by to peruse Natural Built Homes impressive selection of brightly
colored linoleum, tiles, and carpet, or check out their website at

The "when" is still a question, but "soon" is the answer from many of these professionals with a stake in launching green home building here.
