Solar Power 101 Presented by Rebecca Lundberg of Powerfully Green Wednesday July 16th from 6pm-7pm
"Solar Power 101" introduces homeowners and builders to how solar
energy technologies can be used to provide some or all of their energy
from a renewable source. Solar energy qualifies for LEED points for
those seeking this certification. "Solar Power 101" goes over the two
basic technologies for harnessing power from the sun,
solar-electric/photovoltaics and solar-thermal. It is not an
overly-technical presentation, and ideal for both homeowners and
builders. Education is the first step to learning the best way to take
advantage of solar energy.

Do It Green House – Town Hall Meeting Wednesday, July 23 from 6pm - 7pm
The Do It Green! House Planning Team is holding a town hall style
meeting this month for interested professionals and volunteers who want
to learn more about the Do It Green! House project and give us ideas

American Clay Half Day Workshop Presented by Kevin Sexton of Evergreen Painting Saturday, July 26 from 9am - 12pm
Join Master Certified American Clay Applicator Kevin Sexton for an
exciting morning! Kevin will teach participants the basics of
successful clay application including different troweling and finishing
techniques. Each attendee will get hands-on application experience and
will be ready to apply this amazing and beautiful finish in your own
home. Bring your hawk and trowel and we'll provide the rest! (Space

for all materials and you will be able to take your work home)

Eco Experience at the Minnesota State Fair August 21st through Labor Day
Come see the brand new Eco House at this year's great Minnesota
get-together! This year we have created a fresh, contemporary look for
the State Fair's Eco House that is based on a design for an actual new
home to be built in south Minneapolis. The Eco House will be built
efficient SIPs (structural insulated panels). Many green building
strategies and technologies will be shown that have not been emphasized
in past Eco-House exhibits. These include integration with an extensive
permeable front yard landscape, passive and active solar systems,
rain-screen technology with durable FSC-certified paper siding, and an
artfully crafted wall built using FSC-certified wood. The 2008 Eco
House is sure to be worth a stop (or two) at the Fair this year. Come
experience the features that you can incorporate into your own home,
regardless of whether your style is contemporary, traditional or
