About Element Surfaces

Element Surfaces is hand crafted here in Minneapolis through Natural Built Home. They are made with resin and recycled glass (and almost anything else you might want thrown in) to create incredibly durable, earth-friendly, and unique countertop, architectural, and decorative solid surfaces.

Green

We use recycled glass aggregates in our castings, our resins are free of volitile organic compounds, and off-gas no fumes or chemicals during or after curing.

All of our surfaces are made to order, so there is almost none of the waste associated with traditional slab fabrication techniques. this allows us to provide finished product without size limitations - you don't have to buy a whole slab of material for a small project such as a bar or bathroom vanity top.

Durable

Element Surfaces are extremely durable, stain, and heat resistant, and require no special sealers or maintenance.

Color

We have several standard styles, but you can also make custom styles too. Our resins are available in any color imaginable, including translucent and clear, and are easily matched to any paint color swatch from any paint or ink manufacturer.

The recycled glass we use comes in a wide variety of sizes and colors. Other aggregate options include crushed shells, marbles, glow in the dark glass, or anything else you can think of, resulting in an unlimited palette of distinctive possibilities.

Size

We can make surfaces for you of any length, width, or thickness. We need only to be able to get them out of the shop door and into yours.

Shape

Bow fronts, circles, ovals, radii, crazy squiggly forms - any shape you want, we can make.

Inlay

Custom inlays from metals (gears, parts, filings, inlaid dividers, etc.) to custom-molded precast 'sub-element' resin inlays of logos, names, shapes, images, or anything, in any color you could want.

IceStone Recycled Glass Countertop

IceStone® is made from 75% recycled glass in a concrete matrix. IceStone products are the ideal choice for eco-friendly kitchen countertops. They're also a great option for backsplashes, bathrooms, vanities, bathroom dividers, tabletops, interior walls, and commercial flooring applications. Beautiful shower surrounds can be made with IceStone durable surface material. It can be shaped, cut, inlaid and mounted vertically or horizontally. While there are 20 standard colors available, the color palette is infinite.

IceStone® durable surfaces are strong like granite, not as porous as marble and heat-resistant like stone. The chemical composition is benign and 99.5% inorganic making it a very safe material from the standpoint of toxicity and fire resistance. Third party testing results are available upon request. The fabrication, installation and maintenance of IceStone® surfaces follow essentially the same process as used with natural stone.

Due to its high recycled content, IceStone® materials can be used for LEED® qualification. To qualify, the project must use materials with recycled content such that post-consumer content constitutes at least 10% of the total value of the materials in the project or combined post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content constitutes at least 20%. Using IceStone® products for countertops, wall coverings, flooring, bathroom dividers, shower stalls, greatly adds to the overall recycled content of the project.
